Leacett Cottage Riding Stables, a British Horse Approved Establishment is owned and managed by Alison Noble, who has dedicated her life to horses. Alison developed a passion for horses and riding at an early age, and for many years competed on her own horses and ponies.  In 1996 Alison turned her hobby into a business.
 
Leacett Cottage Riding Stables opened its doors to the public with only 12 horses and ponies, most of which are still with us today, along with the other 60 something ranging from Shetland’s to Clydesdales!  We also own some rare breeds of horses. The horses also cover a wide age range from foals to a very old retired thirty something pony!  The stables have a unique location in Whinfell Forest, surrounded by natural forestry land and wildlife.

 
Over the years the business has grown to meet the demands of the equestrian industry, catering for the complete beginners to the experienced riders, and from young children from 2 years to adults, the stables employ thirty staff at peak season, the senior staff are BET Ride Leader Qualified, the remaining full time staff hold a BET Assistant Ride Leader Qualification, thus ensuring a very high standard of safety and customer care on all of our treks. Leacett Cottage Stables also holds the Certificate of training and examination Centre for the The British Equestrian Tourism Exams. The stables have successfully hosting these exams since.
